Carter Efe isn’t stepping into the ring just to win. He wants Speed Darlington humiliated.
The Nigerian content creator has promised to defeat entertainer Speed Darlington when the pair meet in a celebrity boxing showdown on October 1 in Lagos.
And there is more than competition behind Carter’s motivation.
According to Carter, Speed’s past comments about singer Burna Boy have made the upcoming fight personal.
Tensions boil over during face-off
The rivalry intensified during a heated face-off ahead of the bout at the Federal Palace Hotel in Lagos.
Speed was heard challenging Carter to a physical confrontation, while Carter questioned why a bouncer was standing nearby.
Carter then called for the security presence to move away, arguing that he wanted the two of them to face each other directly.
The exchange offered a preview of the hostility expected when the fighters finally meet in the ring.
‘Speed Darlington can never expose me’
Carter also addressed claims that Speed could reveal embarrassing information about him.
Speaking to Hip TV, the content creator dismissed the idea and instead claimed that he is the person who holds other people’s secrets.
His message was blunt: he does not believe Speed has anything on him that could cause damage.
That confidence has added another layer to an already confrontational buildup.
Burna Boy comments become a flashpoint
Carter said his biggest motivation is Speed’s alleged remark about Burna Boy.
He argued that Speed should not make such comments about a major music star and warned that allowing it to go unchecked could encourage similar remarks about other celebrities.
For Carter, the issue has therefore become about more than boxing.
