The council chairman, Dr Mani Tsoho, announced the sponsorship on Tuesday while presenting admission letters to the beneficiaries following the Gwarzo Area Security Council meeting.
Building a stronger local health workforce
Tsoho said investing in women’s education, particularly in healthcare, would help expand the pool of trained health professionals available to communities.
He linked the initiative to the council’s broader effort to improve healthcare delivery and strengthen human capital through education.
The chairman also praised the Kano State Government for its focus on education, describing sustained investment in the sector as essential to improving living standards and developing skilled manpower.
He urged the beneficiaries to remain committed to their studies, maintain discipline and uphold good conduct throughout their training.
Beneficiaries pledge to serve their communities
The sponsored women expressed appreciation to the Kano State Government and Gwarzo Local Government Council for providing the opportunity.
They promised to approach the programme seriously and put their new knowledge and skills to work after completing their training.
The beneficiaries said they hoped to contribute to better healthcare services and the wider development of Gwarzo and Kano State.
Officials attend presentation
The presentation was attended by the Vice Chairman of Gwarzo LGA, Speaker of the Legislative Council, political office holders, Hakimin Gwarzo, Sarkin Dawaki Mai Tuta of Kano, security personnel and other dignitaries.
The initiative places education, women’s empowerment and healthcare capacity at the centre of the council’s effort to improve community development.
