A luxury trip to Thailand ended in tragedy for British-Nigerian businessman and influencer Igho “Tiny” Ubiribo, after an inquest heard that he died following a cosmetic procedure.

Ubiribo, also known as Denisi or Ego, was 43 when he died in Thailand in March.

According to evidence reported from an inquest at Inner West London Coroners’ Court, Ubiribo had undergone a penis-enlargement procedure at a Bangkok clinic during the trip with his wife, Danielle Simba Allen.

The procedure reportedly involved the injection of 40 millilitres of hyaluronic acid and lidocaine.

He became unwell shortly after the procedure

Following the treatment, Ubiribo and his wife reportedly went for a massage.

During the session, he complained of chest pain and collapsed twice, according to the reported inquest evidence.

He was subsequently taken to Sukhumvit Hospital, where doctors diagnosed him with a pulmonary embolism—a blockage in a blood vessel supplying the lungs, typically caused by a blood clot.

Medical staff reportedly attempted to revive him with CPR for more than 100 minutes.

Ubiribo died in the early hours of March 6.

Postmortem linked material in his lungs to the procedure

A subsequent postmortem examination in the UK reportedly identified cellular material in Ubiribo’s lungs that matched the hyaluronic acid used during the cosmetic procedure.

The finding became a key part of the evidence presented at the inquest.

Coroner Jean Harkin subsequently concluded that Ubiribo died from a pulmonary embolism caused by complications associated with the cosmetic procedure.

Influencer was known for his luxury lifestyle

Ubiribo had built a following of approximately 185,000 people on Instagram, where he was known for showcasing an affluent lifestyle.

His death later drew attention during his funeral in London, which reportedly featured a gold coffin valued at approximately $745,000.

Nigerian celebrities, including Davido and Cubana Chief Priest, were among those reported to have attended the funeral.

The inquest’s findings have brought new attention to the circumstances surrounding Ubiribo’s death and the risks associated with cosmetic procedures.
