Candidates may no longer need to visit a CBT centre simply to verify and upload their O’Level results.
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has introduced a new process that allows candidates to verify eligible examination results remotely and transfer verified results to their JAMB profiles.
The move is designed to cut queues, reduce manual errors and make the admission process more convenient.
But there is an important distinction: candidates still have to complete the verification process and follow JAMB’s required upload procedure. Here’s how the new system works.
What the New JAMB System Changes
Under the new arrangement, candidates can begin verifying their Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE) results directly with the examination body that issued them.
The initial rollout includes the West African Examinations Council (WAEC).
JAMB says its e-Facility platform has been connected to participating examination bodies so that candidates’ results can be checked against the records held by the issuing organisations.
That means candidates no longer have to rely entirely on manually entering subjects and grades at a CBT centre.
The system is intended to reduce common problems such as:
- Long queues at CBT centres.
- Network difficulties during busy periods.
- Lost or misplaced documents.
- Incorrect manual entry of subjects or grades.
- Submission of results that have not been properly verified.
Once verification is completed, the candidate can use the resulting verification code to bring the confirmed result into their JAMB profile.

How to Verify Your O’Level Result
Candidates using the service should follow these steps:
- Visit buyresultsverificationcode.ng.
- Enter your National Identification Number (NIN) and select “Verify NIN.”
- Indicate the number of examination sittings you want to verify.
- Select the relevant examination body or bodies.
- Enter your email address and GSM number.
- Select “Pay Now” and complete payment through the available payment options.
- Enter your examination information, including your examination number, examination series and examination year.
- Submit the details for verification.
- After successful verification, obtain the Verification Code issued for the result or results.
Payment can be completed by debit card or bank transfer.
Keep the Verification Code safe. You will need it for the next stage.
How to Upload the Verified Result to JAMB
After receiving the Verification Code, candidates must send:
VERIFY [space] Verification Code
to 55019 or 66019.
JAMB will then process the result and send a notification to the candidate.
Candidates with two examination sittings
If you have two sittings, wait for the notification before proceeding to your JAMB profile.
Then:
- Log into the JAMB e-Facility platform.
- Open the “2026 UTME O’Level Upload” option on the dashboard.
- Enter your Verification Code.
- Review the two verified results displayed.
- Select the subjects required for your admission application.
- Click “Apply the O’Level Results.”
JAMB specifies that candidates selecting subjects must:
- Choose at least five subjects.
- Choose no more than nine subjects.
- Select each subject only once.
After submission, candidates should receive a notification confirming that the upload was completed successfully.
Why JAMB Is Moving Away From Manual Uploads
The change addresses a problem many candidates encounter during peak admission periods: too many people competing for limited CBT-centre capacity.
By moving verification closer to the candidate’s own device, JAMB expects to reduce unnecessary physical visits and ease pressure on centres.
There is also a security benefit.
Instead of relying solely on information manually entered by a candidate or operator, the new process allows the result to be checked against records held by the examination organisation.
That creates an additional layer of verification before the result reaches the candidate’s JAMB profile.
What Candidates Should Do Now
If you are preparing for the 2026 admission process, don’t wait until the last minute to deal with your O’Level result.
Before starting, make sure you have:
- Your NIN.
- Your examination number.
- Your examination series and year.
- A working email address.
- Your GSM number.
- A payment method.
- Accurate examination details.
Most importantly, check every subject and grade carefully before completing the upload. A convenient digital process still requires accurate information from the candidate.
JAMB’s Bigger Digital Push
The new verification system is part of JAMB’s wider effort to make its services more technology-driven and candidate-focused.
The Board said it plans to continue working with examination and government agencies to digitise processes, reduce avoidable physical visits and strengthen the reliability of admission-related services.
The initiative is also associated with the administration of JAMB’s sixth Registrar, Prof. Segun Aina, and its stated goal of making the Board more responsive to candidates.
