One seat. Two tickets. Nobody wanted to give it up.
An Air Peace flight was delayed on Thursday, September 3, after two female passengers were reportedly assigned the same seat.
Nigerian actor Kevin Mike, who said he witnessed the incident, described how the unusual dispute unfolded.
After boarding, one passenger reached her assigned seat and discovered another woman was already sitting there. Both passengers produced tickets showing the exact same seat assignment.
Neither passenger would leave
Airline staff asked the two women to disembark while the seating issue was resolved.
Neither agreed.
Both reportedly refused to leave the aircraft, insisting that they had valid tickets and wanted to complete their journey.
With the dispute holding up the flight, Air Peace crew members tried another approach.
They asked whether another passenger would voluntarily take the next available flight, offering a 50% discount as compensation for the inconvenience.
At first, nobody accepted.
The two women continued to stand their ground, leaving the aircraft unable to depart.
Two passengers finally break the deadlock
The situation was eventually resolved when two male passengers volunteered to take the later flight and accepted the airline’s compensation offer.
With the seating dispute no longer blocking departure, the Air Peace flight was finally able to take off.
A simple boarding error had turned into a full-blown delay—all because two passengers arrived with tickets for one seat.
